Priestley Players A.D.S.

The Priestley Players were formed in 1970 when BOC (Manchester) Ltd. and the Methodist Church, Worsley Road, Swinton agreed to jointly sponsor a drama group. Tom Knight, who was a manager at BOC and also a church steward was our first chairman and producer.

Our first show was April 1970 - “Haul For The Shore” a comedy. From these humble beginnings we have progressed to three shows a year - October, January and April, playing for four nights (Wednesday to Saturday). As time has passed the association with BOC has come to an end, but we are still supported by the church.

Membership is open to anyone who is willing to join our happy band of thespians and give a commitment to the society.

Rehearsal nights are Mondays and Thursdays 7.30pm - 10.00pm.

For those members who like to work on the set, we usually spend Tuesday evenings building sets and doing repairs to the stage. We also have various other activities throughout the year; Quiz Nights, Meals out and our main fund raising event each May - The Plant Sale.
